JOHN W. WRIGHT, CPA

 

John has practiced in Public Accounting for over 40 years, after five years of service as a Federal Agent with the Internal Revenue Service. He became certified in 1975. His IRS experiences coupled with his many years of public practice leave him with an extensive knowledge of all facets of Federal Income Taxation. Other facets are, Stockholder Disputes, Business Management Decisions, Division of Marital Assets including frequent court appearances as an expert in Accounting, Community Property Settlements, Valuation of Businesses and closely held corporations, taxation, and he has served as a special master to the court.

 

John is a graduate of the University of Southwestern Louisiana and a member of ULL Alumni Association. He is a member of the Society of Louisiana Certified Public Accountants and American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He has previously served as Chairman of the Consultation Services Committee, The Louisiana Tax Conference, and as a member of the Taxation Committee of the Society of Louisiana Certified Public Accountants.

John is a member of the Board of Trustees of the UL Lafayette Foundation and has previously served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Nature Conservancy of Louisiana. He is a member of St. Pius Church, the Krewe of Gabriel, the Krewe of Bonaparte, Ducks Unlimited and the Coastal Conservation Association. Activities in the outdoors take up his time of recreation.
